RYLAND HOMES SELLS SIX HOMES AT SANDPINES AT WESCOTT PLANTATION DURING THE NATIONAL RYLAND SALES EVENT
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston area division of Ryland Homes recently participated in the Ryland Homes National Sales Event, and sold six homes at Sandpines at Wescott Plantation.
Sandpines Sales Counselor, David Dix, and Sales Assistant, Brent Campbell, overcame the housing industry fall to sell six homes during the nationwide event. The Ryland Homes Purchase Power Advantage event ran Friday January 25 through Sunday January 27, 2008 in 28 cities and 17 states across the country. In Charleston, Ryland offered 50% off design center options up to $40,000 as well as $3,000 towards closing costs as an incentive for buyers.
“Many people contributed to the success of our National Sales Event at Sandpines at Wescott Plantation. I believe that it takes a team of people to sell and build homes in a Ryland community. Our builder, Dan Kary, keeps the community and the homes looking great. Joy Causey and Meaghan McMahan are our fabulous design center consultants who met with 2 of our prospects prior to writing a contract. And even with my sales assistant, Brent Campbell, being out on paternity leave, I had plenty of help from Jee Youn Fickling, Jennifer Pencarinha and Rita Lewis, who gave up their weekend to assist with the National Sales Event at Sandpines. All in all, it was a very successful event," stated David Dix.
Sandpines is an intimate community with pond views, surrounded by beautiful southern pines, and convenient to the golf courses at Wescott Plantation. Attention to detail is placed into the construction of every home within Sandpines, built with Ryland’s Villages and Estates series. Buyers have the unique opportunity to customize their home to their own style.

"Put up the walls on Monday; turn over the keys on Friday." That's the idea behind the Home Builders Blitz.
Because of the increasing need for simple, decent, affordable housing, the five Lowcountry Habitat for Humanity affiliates are partnering with the building industry to build eight Habitat homes the week of May 14-18. Home builders are challenged to fully accomplish the task working round the clock with their subcontractors and suppliers to deliver the homes at no cost to the affiliates.
The builders' efforts will make a significant change in their communities and in people's lives by making affordable housing available to families in need. They will have the opportunity to enhance the lives of eight families in the community by delivering new homes through their hard work and industry expertise. Even more importantly, they will bond together as a company in a rewarding experience that reaches out to their community.
Dorchester Habitat for Humanity is excited to have Ryland building a house in the Habitat neighborhood at Craig Court in Summerville, South Carolina. Ryland will be building a home in just one week with the help of Ryland employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and volunteers. Michael Boyle, Ryland Home's Production manager, is spear heading the planning and organization of the week long build with the help of Dan Kary, building supervisor, who will act as the on site project manager, and Shauna Tangemann, purchasing agent, who is securing and coordinating the efforts of the suppliers and volunteers.
Ryland Homes is one of the nation's largest home builders with a solid strategy, a great product and the best people in the industry. With four decades of experience, Ryland has built over 265,000 homes across the country and is currently located in 28 cities throughout the United States. Ryland Homes Contributes $10,000 to MUSC Children's Hospital
The Charleston area division of Ryland Homes recently donated $10,000 to Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Children's Hospital.
Nationally, Ryland Homes Corporate Headquarters distributed funds to each of their regional offices to make a choice donation to a local non-profit which their employees agreed upon. Their local office in Charleston, which has seventy-seven employees including executives, staff, builders, and subcontractors, researched several local charities to give the donation to and concluded that MUSC Children's Hospital was the best fit. As Ryland Homes continues their growth in the Charleston area with ten developments and two in Myrtle Beach, they felt MUSC Children's Hospital best serves their expanding communities and employees who are also Charleston-area residents.
With headquarters in Southern California, Ryland Homes is one of the nation's largest homebuilders and a leading mortgage-finance company. The Company currently operates in 31 markets across the country and has built more than 250,000 homes and financed more than 210,000 mortgages since its founding in 1967. Ryland is a Fortune 500 company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "RYL."
Division President of Ryland Homes in the Charleston Market, Don McDonough, expressed his thoughts on the choice of MUSC Children's Hospital as their selected charity, "MUSC Children's Hospital is a wonderful asset to not only the Charleston community through the care that they give to children and families, but to those all over the state. We should all feel fortunate to know that such a remarkable medical facility is in our backyards whenever we need it. Much like the growth at MUSC, Ryland Homes sees this as a great relationship to build upon and match with our future in the Charleston and Myrtle Beach markets. I think most people can appreciate what MUSC Children's Hospital is doing in the community, including Ryland employees who are also local residents."
Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital is South Carolina's largest and most comprehensive pediatric healthcare center in the State.
